This tree contains details of both my and my husband's ancestors. The main lines are 
Fox, Stebbings,Withers and Broadist on my side and Ramsbottom and Jones on my 
husband's.

Broadist was my Grandmother's maiden name. When researching her family I realised 
that the name is very rare (less than 100 occurrences in the 1881 census). I 
therefore set out to trace all occurrences of the name and those I have traced also 
appear in this tree. If you have the name Broadhouse or Broadhurst or any of their 
variants in your tree I would love to hear from you. 

I have now started a one name study for the names Broadhouse and Broadhurst and their 
variants Broadis(t),Bro(a)dest,Brodis Brodhurst, Bradhurst, Boradherst and

I have reecently discovered from Nancy Foster in the US that the name Behurst derives 
from Broadhurst and so will be including the information she has kindly sent me in my 
one name study.
